Wong!

As most of you probably know (because I just can't stop talking about it) I have been taking a course about fantasy this summer and on the list of fiction books there was a book called Charmed Life, part of a the Chrestomanci Chronicles by Diana Wynne Jones...

You guys, I have a new book series love in my life. And do you know what else, or rather who else I love now? Chrestomanci. And do you know who should play Chrestomanci? BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH. I didn't think of it myself, I saw someone mention on when I was looking at fanart of the series (there are some amazing fanart for these books!) and now I can't unsee. Not that I want to.

Seriously, he would be PERFECT. For those of you that haven't read these books (I have no idea how famous they are), Chrestomanci, and I mean Christopher Chant when I say that, is a powerful wizard. He is very tall and rake thin, with dark shiny hair and dark eyes and is extremely handsome. He's an impeccable dresser and owns a lot of fabulous dressing gowns. He's also kind of a jerk and a bit of an arsehole sometimes, but he's a lovable jerk who is really sarcastic and kind of intimidating and gets a vague, daydreaming air about him when he's really focused on something.

And for Benedict Cumberbatch... well if you don't know who that is you need to watch BBC's Sherlock. Because it's awesome. And it's only three episodes anyway. Cumberbatch is also doing Smaug's voice in The Hobbit, and that is like +567886580 awesome points just that. (Martin Freeman who is playing Bilbo is also playing Watson in Sherlock. The power of the bromance is a powerful thing indeed ;) And he's just very Chrestomanci-y.

Also, Millie, Chrestomanci's wife, is awesome.

I still have two more books to read but they were checked out at the library so I'm reading Castle in the air instead, a sort of sequel to Howl's Moving Castle that I didn't know existed.

Basically; Diana Wynne Jones = awesomness.

And I'm going to get off the Internet now, before the clock strikes midnight so I have to pay for another 24 hours. Rural life and all that...

As a sidenote though, the programme for this year book fair is out! Well, okay it's been out for a while but I haven't seen it before. Excited! :D
I have a test on Friday and it's doing my head in. So I dug up an old meme. Naturally.

Pick twelve characters, then answer the questions:

1. Aramis

2. Arthur Pendragon

3. Sheldon Cooper

4. Sherlock Holmes

5. John Granby

6. Jon Snow

7. Uther Pendragon

8. Elrond

9. Celeborn

10. Eowyn

11. Sam Vimes

12. Crowley

This might be spoilery. I tried not too and at one place I warn for it but still. Ye have been warmed.

Chop chop chouCollapse )

I haven't really read fanfic in ages, save for that Merlin meta fic and L's Temeriare drabbles, but I'd love to read a well-written crossover where Sheldon and Sherlock met and in which during one point Watson says to Leonard: "That's nothing, we used to have a human head in the fridge".

#springiscoming

Drabble meme.

1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Put iTunes or equivalent media player on random.
3. For each song that plays, write something related to the theme you picked inspired by the song. You have only the time frame of the song: no planning beforehand: you start when it starts, and no lingering afterward; once the song is over, you stop writing. (No fair skipping songs either; you have to take what comes by chance!)
4. Do 5 of these, then post.
(Though I thought it was ten. It doesn't really matter. But there are ten.)

Instead of a character, pairing or fandom I picked Godric's Hollow. Some might say I just obstinate but I call it free-thinking.

Under the cut you'll find some gen, some slash and even some het.  Some of them are a bit angsty. Some of them are not.

Contains spoilers for the whole Harry Potter series.

Rating is G - PG. Maybe PG-13 for certain implications.

Notes:

  • Re#5. Yes L, you are partly to blame for this. Or get half the credit, whichever way you want to look at it.

  • Re#8. I view these characters a certain way and this is not it. This, however, is a song meme so it's okay.^^

  • Re#10. Part of this scene, i.e. the injuries and the dialouge, was originally planned to be part of a oneshot I'm writing. It might still be included.

But he was famous long ago

:D

I soo want an opportunity to quote that now... Not your bitch indeed...
Not that I completely agree with him...somewhat...

Also: Nostalgia :) "Improvise, IMPROVISE!"

See how they fly like Lucy in the sky

I can still fangirl the Beatles yes?

YOU CAN'T TELL ME THIS ISN'T LOVE:
They were adorkable before that term even existed xD I just love the part at around 2.10 with Ringo and his snow-thingy.

It all started with me trying to analyse and make sense of the vocals in Because. I do this once in a while, remember how much I loved them (well, I still do) and why I love them...I suppose it's a bit like with LotR. Even though I haven't been active in the fandom for quite some time, it still holds a special place in my heart, and I still love the books and the movies and all the "nerd-stuff" and it feels a bit like home. I guess is pretty hard to make a clean break and absolutely and totally move on from a fandom. Not when it's something that been a big part of your life in some way or another. The interest can dwindle sure, but then after awhile it comes back, at least in some form and you want to watch some movies, listen to some music or read some books. At least that's how it is for me.

On a different note, well, slightly different anyway. I'll try and make it to the library tomorrow, I want to pick up Norwegian Wood by Murakami, K recommended it to me. Well, honestly, I can't remember if she recommended the book or just the author, but it's probably given which one I was going to choose^^

The best thing is about helping somebody else move and not be the one that's moving is that after all the boxes and furniture and bags are moved to the new place and you're just so tired and hungry you get to go home.

(Lol, I'm watching Bones for the first time in years and don't you think they are at a convention, talking about "The girl with Excalibur" :D Not the real sword though, but a prop from Le morte d'Arthur. That's the second time Arthur is mentioned on the TV today, he was a question in Vem vet mest.)

Today has been kind of a boring, sucky day that came with a headache, sore muscles and stiffness, but I kind of picked myself up in the afternoon and went for a long walk in the forest and then I baked bread when I came home.  (Now the Excalibur-sword is being sold at an auction for half a million dollars) And managed to burn myself on the oven paper. Not on the baking plate, not on the oven, on the baking paper, after I had removed the baking plate from the oven and placed it on the stove.

By the way, have anyone else gotten the same "LiveJournal Announcement" thrice?

Anyway~, have a drabble. And a half.

Title: In Between
Pairing: Salazar/Godric
Rating: G
Genre: Fluff
Summary: Sometimes, the important thing isn't what's being said but what's left untold.

And...click!Collapse )

Did someone say Disney?

I bought chocolate-yoghurt today. That seems like a pretty win-win situation to me.

ANIMATION MEME

Meh, too tired to come up with something wittyCollapse )
